I am proud to announce that we are bringing the success of the ARVR Academy on the west coast to New York. ARVR Academy is an organization dedicated to diversity and inclusion in AR and VR through education and professional development efforts to make the ARVR industry more accessible to people of all backgrounds.
The six-week workshop will begin the week of March 6th, 2017. Classes will meet once a week at Thoughtworks in Manhattan (99 Madison Avenue) and cover topics around virtual and augmented reality conceptualization, design, and programming in Unity. The course walks participants through a number of important considerations for building VR experiences, resulting in a final application that participants will build for mobile VR over the course of the classes.
All experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to apply at www.arvracademy.io. The cost of the workshop series is $120. Partial and full scholarship options are available as needed. Applicants will be notified of selection the week of February 27th, 2017.
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Monica Fink (Thoughtworks) to bring the positive initiatives of the ARVR Academy started by Liv Erickson (High Fidelity, formerly Microsoft), Suzanne Leibrick (Udacity, Suzanimator), and Erin Pangilinan (HARP, Stealth startup) to the East Coast.
